Smart Women Week

Old news for anybody who follows Sophie's Instagram, but next week sees Sophie in conversation with Sarah Bailey in London, as part of "Red" magazine's 'Smart Women Week' event. Sophie will be talking at 6.30pm on Wednesday 27th. As ever, the webmaster is unlikely to be able to attend, officially making me the worst stalker ever. Anyway, for those of you who live a bit nearer to London than I do, here's a ticketing link: https://hearstlive.co.uk/smartwomenweek/buy-tickets/#day-3

Happy Birthday

Sophie, as you probably already knew, turns 40 today. Congratulations!

Magazine news

Nothing amazing, but as part of (British) "Vogue"'s commemoration of the departure of editor Alexandra Shulman, their September issue is devoted to fashion events during her 25 years in charge. It comes out at 306 issues, which is a bit of a random number to celebrate, but there we go. Aside from a collage of all of the relevant covers from the period, Sophie also gets a look in in the "Hit Parade" photo-article, as part of a list of "Unforgettable Crushes" - of the clothes variety that is, not the hottest supermodels. Sophie is featured wearing a Pashmina, the picture itself is of 1998 vintage during the 'dark hair' years.

Minor website news

Bit of housekeeping tonight, which has seen a few items added to the lists in the Paper-ography, Pic-ography and Mag-ography pages. Mostly items from the last 12 months, several of which would have been referred to on the news pages at the time. The Boodles ad in this year's "Country And Town House" hasn't been added, as I am thinking of scanning in the photo to pop into the Gallery page.

Vogue party

Sophie attended the leaving do of outgoing "Vogue" editor Alexandra Shulman in London yesterday. Photo on the Diary Pages later.

Elephant news

Anybody who has seen this month's "Porter" magazine will be well aware of Doutzen Kroes' campaigning for the "Save The Elephants" charity, and last night, she held a dinner in honour of the organisation, which Miss Dahl attended. The Daily Mail showbiz page is particularly excited about the jumpsuit she wore with a 'plunging neckline'. I admit, she does look hot in the photos. One on the diary pages later. Also, in non-news news, I recently got hold of the March/April 2017 edition of "Country And Town House", and found yet another new/old "Boodles" photo. The Boodles Twitter page still has a shot from last year's shoot on their banner, and as I can't remember which box my catalogue is in, I genuinely can't remember if I am getting excited about nothing. Will try to provide an update, if there is one, on this page (maybe).

Boodles news and "Old" news

What I am convinced is a brand new "Boodles" shot of Sophie appears in the July 2017 edition of "Harpers Bazaar". The Boodles Twitter page is mentioning the launch of a new range in June, so my guess is that this is another, now annual, campaign photoshoot. Elsewhere, and I seem to have missed this, but this month's (UK) "Vogue" has a Sophie penned article about the Sussex Coast. It's on sale for another few weeks, so I shall have to re-read the contents page tomorrow!

Sophie out on the town - at last

Sophie made what is her first "public engagement" for some months yesterday, when she attended the "Talk Of The Townhouse" event in London. Not many photos online, but will be able to put one on the diary pages hopefully ASAP.

Site update

Another addition to the Covers Pages micro-site, as Sophie's previously undocumented Ukranian "Elle" cover from late 2004 is now on the 'bonus magazines' page.

Brits photo

A shot of Sophie from last week's "Brit Awards" afterparty is in the new issue of "Grazia", dated 6 March 2017. A few of the other women's weeklies that have covered the event have declined to include any photos of her in their issues this week, but I may have a look through a few others tomorrow to see if "Grazia" really is the only one that has bothered!
