Anybody who follows Sophie on Instagram will be aware that she did another of the "Madame B" Puppet show things at the Charleston Festival yesterday. As expected, no photos of it online (yet) and as I wasn't there, nothing from the webmaster either - but it will get added to the diary pages at some point when I finally give up looking for an accompanying image. Those pages have been updated recently to show a picture of Sophie from last year's "Sunday Times Style" 20th Anniversary party - an event that has hitherto not been mentioned on this site, as I found out about it weeks after it happened! A recent-ish "STS" magazine included an image of Sophie from the event, and so the Mag-ography page is also now updated. Meanwhile, the Books page now also includes an entry for the paperback reissue of "The Old Bones".

Book news

The paperback version of "The Old Bones" is due for release in the UK on 1st May.

Sophie was out on the town in London last night, attending the launch of "Gin And Juice by Dre & Snoop", at Flipper's Roller Boogie Palace. Photo on the diary page ASAP.

Website update

The "Sophie's Books 4" page has now been updated to mention the audiobook release of "The Old Bones", complete with an image of the CD edition. My US copy of the original book seems to be coming from the States by carrier pigeon, but hopefully, some more detail of it will be on this website before the end of April.

Old Bones audiobook

An audiobook version of "Madame B And The Old Bones" is due for release this Thursday. As with the previous audiobooks, this is being released as both an MP3 "Data Disc" and a regular CD. Meanwhile, the US version of the book - with a different colour cover - is scheduled for release on April 2nd.

Delayed magazine news

Sophie is featured in the January 2024 issue of "Woman And Home", detailing the '5 books that changed her life'. This should be on sale for the next fortnight.

Carols Concert Aftermath

As planned, Sophie attended the Place 2Be Xmas Carols Concert in London last night. I can confirm this as, at the fourth or fifth attempt, I actually managed to get to go this year. Sophie read an "abridged" version of one of her Home And Garden 'Christmas' columns, and was also seen shaking some sort of music instrument around a piano during a performance of "Jingle Bells" by one of the other guests, Joe Stilgoe. Photo will be on the diary pages later today.

Carols Concert

Website update

As your webmaster was actually in attendance at Sophie's appearance at Cheltenham Literature Festival today, I have uploaded one of my own photos from the event onto the diary pages. Sophie read the whole of the new "Madame B" book, and was accompanied by a puppeteer - these events are usually a bit of a Q&A session with a brief extract being read out part way through, and never a full blown "performance", let alone one with a puppet show going on at the same time!
