The ad campaigns microsite has now been rebuilt, and can be found via the homepage as before. One or two photos have changed, but photos do exist for all the companies mentioned on there. The pictures, in the main, are much bigger than on the old version, although this sometimes reveals some reduced clarity due to the increased size (some of these images are scans of old paper material, as none seem to exist on the web in "digital" quality), but it looks OK.

Apparently, Orange no longer have a "website builder" package anymore - it's just a shame they didn't seem to contact everybody who had used it in the past when they killed it off last month! So, the ad campaign pages are thus now offline.

I am currently planning to rebuild this part of the site, probably using the Blogger template again, although some of the photos used on the old microsite won't be on the new one, or may be alternate versions, as I don't have digital copies of some of the original photos, only paper versions - and it will probably take ages to try and find them and scan them in! But I would guess photos will appear for at least 75% of the companies Sophie worked for.

I think the new microsite will probably be broken down into A-Z order, with each page featuring photos and info for companies from, say, A-C, D-F, etc, etc. I will probably start work on this later today, and may try to get the basic structure in place over the weekend. When it's finished, I will advise on this very page. For now, the link to the "old" site will probably stay in situ, just in case it mysteriously re-appears!

I have also added some more magazines to the Pic-ography list, plus altered one or two minor mistakes. The ad campaigns microsite seems, at present, not to be working. This may just be a temporary thing, if not, then this part of the site may have to be rebuilt in due course.

Happy new year!

There have been some minor amendements to the site in recent days - a few more new (and old) additions to the magazine lists, and links on the homepage to Sophie's Twitter account and the BBC "Chef's" page.

One thing I am in the process of doing is trying to list more magazine appearances to the Pic-ography, but this can be time consuming. Nonetheless, one of the recent additions to the list is a German mag from May 2002 called "Vital" which included a photo of Sophie, and I will imagine occasional extras will be added on an irregular (!) basis over the next few months or even years!

Sophie appears in the new UK edition of "Harpers Bazaar", there is a small photo accompanying a Q&A session called "My Cultural Life". Issue dated December 2011.
She has also written a feature for the December 2011 UK "Vogue", about 'The Joy Of The Feast', although no photos accompany this article.

In website news, the "subscribers" cover of "Red" now appears in the scans in the "Magazine Covers" micro-site. There are one or two other minor additions to go on the "Pic-ography" and "Paper-ography" lists, but otherwise, the site is now pretty much up to date info wise at the moment post-"From Season To Season". Apart from all the stuff I think I missed recently!

Look at Amazon and you will see that the US edition of "From Season To Season" may now be called "Very Fond Of Food" - with a different cover to the UK and originally planned US edition. Given that it has a release date of April 2012, it all seems a bit too far in the future to work out what all this means, but I shall keep an eye on this situation.

As predicted, Sophie appears in the new UK edition of "GQ", with a photo from last month's awards do. Have only had a quick look, and have found one miniscule photo, there might not be any more than that.

More impressive, I am told, is her appearance in "Sense", the freebie magazine available to anybody who wanders into a NatWest bank. My copy has been "obtained" by a family member, who tells me it includes a big photo and article. Not sure how long these will remain on display, as I think Sense is a monthly freebie, so get to the bank ASAP.

Sophie, as planned, did her talk and book signing at the Memorial Hall in Chorleywood today. The webmaster attended, and was taken aback - again - when Miss Dahl/Mrs Cullum recognised me, despite it having been two and a half years since I last saw her at Selfridges in London. A reminder also that the Mrs Beeton TV show is on tonight, although by the time you read this, you might have missed it!

Sophie's "Mrs Beeton" show is now to be shown on Thursday 29th September. Suffice to say, numerous TV mags out today have a mention (and photo) about it.

"Radio Times" has a two page feature with what at first looks like an exclusive photo, but the photo seems to be copyrighted with somebody else, as the same shot is in "TV Times". Elsewhere, variants of the photo that was used on the BBC's Press Release page at the end of last year (and a copy of which is on the 2011 Diary Pages) crop up not only in "TV & Satellite Week", but also on the Radio Times website.

I shall have a look tomorrow for any more, but can also confirm Sophie is in the new editions of "TV Easy" and "Total TV Guide" as well - all of these are dated 24th September. Elsewhere, the grumbling about Sophie seeking donations for Roald Dahl's writing hut sees her make the "Good Week Bad Week" section in "New", dated 26th September.

You probably already know this, but as I am not too good at this stalking lark, I get some of this info second hand - and late!

Sophie will be doing a signing in Chorleywood on September 29th at 2pm. I understand it will be preceeded by a talk - more info on the Chorleywood Bookshop website. She will then be appearing on 15th October at the Thame Literary Fetsival, again doing a talk and signing at 1pm.

Sophie is also supposed to be on the cover of "Red" magazine's November issue - I understand several other magazines either out now or due soon also have book related features (apart from "Glamour", as already mentioned), I shall try and see if any such things are already out and will update later.

The Mrs Beeton show, according to the lady herself, is now being pushed back to September 21st. I would suggest you check out Sophie's Twitter page for more news, although I will try and put any more updates here as well.

There are likely to be extra pages added to the main website very soon - possibly later today. The plan is to have pages devoted to newspaper appearances, magazine features, etc "post-2011" available direct from the homepage.

Part of the reason for this is that because the main site is built using Blogger, it is not always easy to update what are in effect "old" blogs, without having to redesign the screen. The "diary" pages were recently updated in a very minor way, but it took a long time to do! It seems that any new pages on Blogger can be created/updated more easily, hence the decision.

If at any time, you go to the homepage and find a "2011" page, then you should still be able to click on the "2009" button to access the Sophie-ography.

Having discovered Sophie is mentioned in a new book by TV chatshow host Michael Parkinson, I have listed this book in the "Other Books" section in the Sophie-ography, complete with a picture from around about the time she appeared on his show - more or less. The only exception is that I am sure there are plenty of other books with Sophie in, I shall try and add more of these when I find them!

A very rare (but a bit small) photo of Sophie is in the December 2010 edition of "Red".

A quick note about the new covers pages - I am in the process of putting the 2002 magazine covers on, so if you visit those pages, you will see a "November 2010" tab on the left hand side of the screen. Work is still ongoing so until you see "2002" listed on the main menu page in the centre of the screen, this basically means the page is still under construction. I will try to list here when the page is "ready".

As mentioned some months ago, the magazine covers pages "microsite" is being revamped. I think it now looks better than the old version, but due to various technical "issues" is currently being updated on a month by month basis. As such, the new version shows only covers from 1997 to 2001, but 2002 ones should go on in November, 2003 in December, and so on.

A small pic of Sophie appears in the "limited availability" freebie, "Stylist", currently being handed out in selected cities. The photo is an outtake of an old shot from a Harpers & Queen shoot from 2004ish, and may not have been published anywhere before.

Not sure how long this has been out, but Sophie is featured in the October 2010 issue of "Cook Vegetarian". A couple of nice, big photos, although both have done the rounds before - one of them is actually the photo from the cover of last year's cookbook.

As partly expected, it seems most of last week's UK mags went to press after Sophie's baby news, and it's not until this week that many of them have had a chance to report it. Will have a look at a few more tomorrow, but for now, Sophie is thus in "Closer" (25th Sep), "Reveal" (26th Sep), and "New", "Look" and "Grazia" (all 27th Sep).

Seems the timing of Sophie's pregnancy was "too early" for some of last week's mags, as it is only today that "Hello" magazine have printed a photo to accompany said article. As ever, I shall list any more (I know of) that might have gone to press too early last week, if they opt to include something this week - details will appear her tomorrow and Wednesday if need be.

Elsewhere, in magazine news, few UK weeklies seem to have made any mnetion of the recent baby news - so far, it seems only "Star" (issue dated 20th September) has bothered reporting the story.

I have added about 40-50 new photos onto the Diary pages - some are for "new" events, but others are extra photos for events where pictures on this site already existed, but were scattered around other places. There is still (possibly) some work to do on this, but it'll do for now.
The magazine covers pages are almost certainly to be heavily revamped at the end of this year - I shall give more info, if this goes ahead, in the next couple of months.

Sophie was featured in today's "Daily Mail", regarding a story about her late grandmother, actress Patricia Neal. The oscar that Neal won in 1963 is apparently being fought over by a hospital named afterher, and family members, and the Mail states it will "not be going to Sophie".

The new isssue of "Waitrose Kitchen" is out now, but Sophie's column is not in it. Now, I am not sure if this is a temporary break, or if that's the end. I shall keep an eye on the next few issues, but if nothing is reported on this site, then assume the column has come to an end.

The new issue of "Radio Times", dated 21st August, has an interview with Jamie Cullum, due to him being involved with several TV shows at the moment. Unsurprisingly, the article makes reference to Sophie and an old photo of the couple accompanies the piece.

The webmaster is off on holiday later today, so no updates to this site until Friday at the earliest. Just before I go, a quick mention that Sophie, if you are lucky, might appear on TV tonight - husband Jamie Cullum is one of the judges on new Sky 1 talent show "Must Be The Music", which tonight features on the lives of the judges, so we might get a bit of Sophie there.

There are also reports that Sophie is still to make another cookery show with the BBC, presumably to tie in with the forthcoming book, no further details yet.
